Meet Our Staff
Greg Biehle D.V.M. graduated from Texas A&M in 1978. Soon after he purchased Brykerwood Veterinary Clinic in Austin Texas and has been practicing medicine ever since. He is a man of his word and thrives on the relationships he builds and keeps with his clients and patients. He has four wonderful children and is a family man at heart. He enjoys the charity work he does, including years of service to the local SPCA. He also has serviced the community by doing a weekly local spot every Thursday on FOX news’ "ask the vet" segment. In his spare time he loves to retreat to his family farm, tending to his cows and enjoying the outdoors.
Kristi Schmalz, DVM, associate, graduated with honors in 1999 from Princeton University obtaining a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She went on to graduate summa cum laude from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She has been working with Brykerwood Vet Clinic since 2004 where she enjoys both canine and feline internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. She has 2 Border Collie mixes, 4 children, and a husband. While Dr. Schmalz is currently on maternity leave, she is looking forward to returning to work at BVC in January 2012.
Angie Whitworth, DVM, associate is a 2006 graduate ofTexas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been practicing at Brykerwood Vet Clinic for 3 ½ years. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but is especially interested in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dermatology, preventative medicine and in building relationships with patients and their owners. Dr. Whitworth was born in Australia and has lived in several South East Asian countries. She moved to the U.S. to attend the University of Arizona, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture with a minor in microbiology. She has been married to her husband, Chris, for 4 years. They have a 7 month old son, Louis, and 2 cats, Cuya, a 15 year old orange tabby and L.B., a 3 year old Siamese mix. When Dr. Whitworth isn’t practicing veterinary medicine, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, being outdoors, doing yoga and reading. Dr. Whitworth is a member of the Central Austin Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association
Bethany Moore, DVM, associate graduated in 2008 from Texas A& M University Vet School. She received her undergraduate degree in creative advertising from the University of Texas. Before joining Brykerwood in 2009, Bethany practiced at a busy clinic in San Antonio. Over the last 2 ½ years, she has enjoyed expanding her diagnostic and surgical skills. 4 dogs; 3 Whippets and 1 Australian Sheperd, as well as one cat complete Bethany’s household. Starting in vet school, she has loved competing with her dogs in agility, obedience, rally obedience, and lure coursing. Her professional memberships include the Capital Area Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Outside of Brykerwood, her interests include snowboarding, SCUBA diving, reading, cooking and enjoying outdoor Austin with her dogs.
Allison Werner, DVM, associate was born and raised in Austin Texas. Since she can remember, she has always had a love for all animals and hoped to become a veterinarian. She graduated from Texas A&M Veterinary School in 2006. After graduation, she went on to complete an internship in medicine and surgery near Chicago. Allison has a special interest in internal medicine. In addition to loving her work, Allison enjoys doing artwork, spending time outdoors, and spending time with her family. She has a loving husband and was blessed with a baby girl in 2010. Her furry family members include a chihuahua named Jack, a shorthaired pointer named Gus, a healer named Rudy, and two cats named Presley and Lily.
Stephanie Baker, DVM, associate joined Brykerwood in April of 2011 and she is thrilled to work with such wonderful doctors and staff. Previously she was a small animal practitioner at a large clinic for 8 years in Dallas TX. There, and at Brykerwood, she has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, and lameness. Her emphasis is finding and managing disease early and then treating the whole animal from diet to exercise to supplements. She graduated from Texas A&M Vet School class of 1999, summa cum laude, then completed an equine medicine internship in California. After practicing on horses for 4 years in Cali, she returned to her roots and family in Dallas, and fell in love with small animal practice. Two dogs, two cats, and one special man made the move with her, and they are all loving Austin.
Jimmie Pardo, Office Manager has been working at Brykerwood Vet since June 2003. After being born and raised in San Antonio, TX Jimmie moved to Santa Cruz, CA getting a job as a kennel technician thus beginning his career in the veterinary business. He moved to Austin,TX after and graduated from UT earning a degree in fine art and began painting pet portraits for family and friends. He enjoys his pet fish and spending time with his son riding bikes in the park.
Fred Rodriguez, Supervisor and lead Surgery and Treatment Technician Many of you know Fred very well. He has worked at Brykerwood since April 1995. In his 16 years here, Fred really cherishes the special relationships he has built with so many clients and patients. He is our invaluable go- to man. Fred lives in Plugerville with his wife, Laura, and two sons, Jace and Ethan. They have three dogs and one cat; two French Bulldogs, named Achilles and Breseis, a Boston Terrier, Rock, and a tabby, Sassy. Fred enjoys spending his free time at home with his family, playing baseball with his boys, and taking his truck to the carwash.
